Wiki

Sinatra is an ex-Overwatch league professional player who currently competes in Riot’s new tactical shooter Fortnite. Sinatra’s real name is Jay Won and he was born on March 18, 2000. After a recent ban from competitive play in Fortnite, he has been a streamer for Sentinels. He has numerous achievements as an Overwatch pro, representing his country multiple times in the Overwatch World Cup.

Career

Jay was born in Shoreline, Washington, America. He grew up with an elder brother named June. Sinatra has a mixed family background with a Korean dad and a German mom. He was a student at the Shorewood high school, where his favourite activites were baseball and other sports. However, he dropped out in the second semester of his junior year to pursue gaming.

His parents were extremely supportive of his decision. As a child, Jay loved to spend his time playing video games. He started playing FPS shooters such as Halo and Counter Strike. Later on with the rise of Overwatch in 2016, Jay was addicted to the game and played countless hours mastering it. This was also one of the reasons Jay thought of quitting high school and pursuing his passion for gaming.

His first professional team was Selfless Gaming whom he joined in 2016. After dropping out he moved to Atlanta to live with the team roster and form a boot camp to practice. He was climbing the competitive ladder in Overwatch and was ranked #1 in NA region by the third season. Jay was listed by ESPN as one of the brightest prospects in Esports.

He learned alot playing alongside big names such as Daniel “dafran” Francesca and Jeff “emongg” Anderson. The team had a short stint of success and disbanded in the latter half of 2017. However with the launch of Overwatch League in 2017, many teams wanted to sign Sinatra. Many huge bids were made to land the player after a $150,000-a-year contract with NRG Esports’ team San Francisco Shock was finalized.

Jay was yet to turn 18, and it was mandatory for players to make the age-cut in order to compete. This was a minor setback and set Sinatra on the sidelines for a few months. After a slow start in 2018, his team picked up rhytm in 2019 and was one of the best teams in the world. Sinatra led his team to victory in the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals and was also the MVP for the tournament.

He also won the Overwatch World Cup the very same year defeating Team China and grabbing the MVP again. After a star studded career in Overwatch Jay switched to Valorant in 2020. He joined Team Sentinels to star alongside players like Shazam and Sick. Currently Sinatra has over a million followers on Twitch and around 300,000 subscribers on Youtube. Alongside this, he has over 100,000 followers on Instagram and 200,000 followers on Twitter.

Banned From Competitive Valorant

Jay was sidelined from Competitive Valorant by Riot. This was following a sexual assault alligation filed by his ex-girlfriend ‘Cle0h’ in March 2020. The police were investigating into the case and a voice memo was leaked on Twitter to back up the claim. This led to community backlash and tarnished the image of Sinatra on the internet.
