Who we are
GamerStats.net ("we", "us") runs gamerstats.net and is responsible for the data described here. Contact: cs@gamerstats.net, 1538, Doon Valley, Karnal, Haryana, India.
What we collect
When you browse
Our hosting provider receives the technical data any website receives: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use the IP address only to block abuse (rate limiting) and do not link it to a profile. We measure page speed and visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites.
When you sign in to comment
Comments require a Steam or Discord sign-in. From that sign-in we receive your public account ID, display name, avatar and profile link. We store these with the comments you post. We never receive your Steam or Discord password.
When you email us
We keep your email address and message to answer you and to keep a record of corrections.
Cookies and browser storage
- gs_community_uid: a first-party, HTTP-only session cookie set only after you sign in to comment. It keeps you signed in. It is removed when you sign out or when it expires.
- gs_theme (browser storage): remembers light or dark mode.
- gs_community_user (browser storage): caches your public display name and avatar so the comment box shows who you are.
We do not use advertising cookies. Affiliate links on gear pages pass through vob.gamerstats.net to the retailer; once you land on the retailer's site, its own privacy policy and cookies apply.
Why we use it
- To run the comments section and show who wrote each comment (our legitimate interest in running a community, and your request when you sign in).
- To keep the site secure and stop spam and abuse (legitimate interest).
- To answer your emails and corrections (your request).
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising profiles.
Who processes it
We use service providers to host and run the site: Cloudflare (hosting, security, analytics), Vercel (the comments service) and Supabase (database). Steam (Valve) and Discord handle the sign-in on their side under their own privacy policies. These providers may process data outside India.
How long we keep it
Comment account data is kept while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete the account data and remove or anonymise your comments. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request and keep a record of corrections.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email cs@gamerstats.net with your Steam or Discord profile link so we can find your account. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The comments section is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes.
