Astralis CS:GO Dynasty & CS2 Era

One of the most decorated organizations in Counter-Strike history, Astralis currently fields a Scandinavian roster ranked #15 in the World Ranking and #10 in the Valve Regional Standings (VRS), holding 40 weeks in the Top 30 for the current core with 19 premier LAN trophies headlined by four Major championships.

The Golden Era (2016-2020)

Founded in January 2016 around the former Dignitas core of device, dupreeh, Xyp9x, karrigan, and cajunb under coach zonic, Astralis quickly grew into the most systematic team in Counter-Strike. The mid-2016 arrival of Kjaerbye and the October 2016 signing of in-game leader gla1ve delivered a first Major title at ELEAGUE Atlanta 2017, before FACEIT London 2018, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin 2019 completed a record-tying four-Major haul as Magisk anchored one of the deepest rosters ever assembled. The team topped the world ranking for 121 weeks between December 2016 and March 2021 and collected 19 premier trophies, including ECS Season 2, IEM Katowice 2017, two ESL Pro League titles, and the BLAST Pro Series Global Final 2019.

Rebuild & CS2 Transition (2021-2024)

After zonic, dupreeh, and Magisk left for Vitality in late 2021, Astralis rebuilt around blameF and k0nfig and welcomed back device in October 2022. A HEROIC raid secured stavn and jabbi in November 2023, Staehr continued his rise, and cadiaN arrived from Liquid in September 2024, but the CS2 years produced deep runs rather than titles — 3-4th finishes at IEM Cologne 2022 and 2023, IEM Chengdu 2024, ESL Pro League Season 19, and the BLAST Premier World Final 2024.

The New Danish Core (2025-2026)

HooXi took over the in-game leader role in June 2025 and steered the team to 2nd at PGL Astana 2025 and 3rd at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, while Magisk and device closed out their second stints in December 2025. January 2026 brought a new-look core with phzy and ryu, coach NEO took the reins in July 2026, and the team stormed to 2nd at PGL Bucharest 2026, 3rd at the ESL Pro League Season 23 Finals, and a seven-match win streak. October 2026 saw siuhy and cmtry join the active lineup as jabbi and HooXi moved to the bench, with Astralis sitting at #15 in the world as CS2 continues.
