Krabeni — Aulon Fazlija

A documentary biography of the Kosovar in-game leader who captained an ex-academy core from the second tier to a Big Event final, built from HLTV profile data, HLTV news records and published interviews.

Aulon Fazlija's recorded professional history begins in May 2022, on a team called ESK, and it is a history written from one of the smallest footprints in competitive Counter-Strike. Kosovo had produced exactly one phenomenon before him: Bad News Eagles, the Pristina-rooted roster whose run to the PGL Antwerp Major in 2022 — sealed, famously, by a comeback from 11-14 down in the Inferno decider of their final RMR match — was described by HLTV as a historic moment for the Kosovar and Albanian scene. Fazlija was eighteen when his own first entries appear. ESK lasted from May to July 2022. Blink, the next entry, ran from July 2022 to May 2023. KS followed from June to September 2023. None of the three spells carries a trophy in the record, and none of them made him famous; what they supplied was the apprenticeship of the Balkan online circuit, the tiers where schedules are improvised and organizations change names faster than players change crosshairs.

The measurable trace of those years is not in team results but in matchmaking volume. His FACEIT record now stands at 10,465 matches — by a distance the largest total among the FUT core — with a 54 percent win rate, a 1.14 average KDR, a 53 percent headshot rate and a longest winning streak of eighteen. The FPL history underneath it is more revealing still. In the CS:GO Challenger Europe division he logged seasons of extraordinary volume: 175 matches in one season, 179 in another, 216 in a third, finishing second three times and inside the top six on five further occasions. In FPL CS2 Europe he won Season 28 outright with 128 points, finished second in three separate seasons and third in two more, and his profile carries the record of a weekly FPL title — winner of FPL CS2 EU, January 2025, Week 3. Ten thousand matches is not talent; it is a decision, made daily over years, about how a player from a scene with no infrastructure intends to catch the players who have it.

The step that changed the trajectory arrived in October 2023, when Natus Vincere unveiled a new Junior roster and Fazlija was on it. He was nineteen. The organization behind s1mple and B1ad3's dynasty had recruited a Kosovar teenager with no tier-one résumé onto its development team, and whatever the tryouts saw, the raw materials were the ones the ladder had built: mechanics from ten thousand games, and, as it turned out, a temperament suited to organizing five of them.

2. The Accidental Caller: NAVI Junior, 2023-2025

Fazlija did not join NAVI Junior to be the in-game leader. "When I joined NAVI Junior, I wasn't supposed to be the IGL," he told HLTV in January 2026. "But we were missing an IGL and they tried me as IGL. And since then I started to like this role a lot, and I will never change it." The improvisation became the identity. Across twenty months in the academy, from October 2023 to June 2025, the Kosovo native grew into the caller of one of the most productive junior teams in Europe, a side whose roster would eventually supply FUT with its entire core and Natus Vincere with one senior player.

The academy years were defined by volume and by a culture the team's coach, András "coolio" Fercsák, later described to HLTV in detail. The players had left school to treat Counter-Strike as a profession. "We were practicing like a tier-one team, the schedule was the same," coolio said — sessions from eleven in the morning until five, six or seven in the evening, officials played even when practice was impossible, "three best of three in a day" taken because experience was the currency that mattered. "Everyone wanted to show that he was better than the others. We were working so hard every day. It was a full-time job for them already, we were just grinding non-stop." Fazlija, the caller, was the organizer of that environment, and the results accumulated quietly: by the middle of 2025 the team had won YaLLa Compass Spring and two CCT events, climbed into the top thirty of the Valve Regional Standings, and made itself eligible for invites to notable LANs as a unit.

"Everyone wanted to show that he was better than the others. We were working so hard every day. It was a full-time job for them already, we were just grinding non-stop."

The split, when it came, was administrative rather than competitive. Natus Vincere needed a replacement for Justinas "jL" Lekavicius on the senior roster and promoted Drin "makazze" Shaqiri from the academy. The rest of the team was put up for sale. "The plan for NAVI, I think it wasn't to let us go, but the level we were playing… at some point we were top 23 in the VRS," coolio said. "It was obvious that we don't want to be an academy anymore. And I think NAVI just came up with a decision that they have to move on." The timing cost the group a chance to fight for a Budapest Major place, and for a summer the five most productive junior players in Europe competed without an owner.

3. The Sold Core: Exile Summer and the Move to FUT

In August 2025 the ex-NAVI Junior roster was signed whole by FUT, a Turkish organization that had entered Counter-Strike within the previous year and committed to youth without precedent. The average age of the new project was just over nineteen, and Fazlija — twenty at the signing — became its captain. The first months tested the move's logic. Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier was tried in makazze's old position and did not fit; coolio's post-mortem was frank: "In that role I expected something else... this role requires some aggressiveness and some YOLO plays and stuff like this. He was more like a passive guy." Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea arrived instead and brought the aggression the role demanded. Online, the team won Exort The Proving Grounds Season 4 and attracted accusations of cheating from opponents who could not otherwise explain the scorelines. "The players also knew that nobody was cheating," coolio said. "There was a communication issue. The first LAN we played, the comms were fully different. People were screaming, it was full chaotic."

The first LAN was the Birch Cup, and FUT finished last. Fazlija's own accounting of the event, given months later, doubled as a description of tier-three reality: "With all due respect, we had a lot of issues. Everyone had to change PCs. We had low FPS, other guys on my team had bad monitors. We didn't feel comfortable." The response was procedural rather than emotional — a bootcamp built around practicing with in-ear monitors before the trip to Shanghai for the CS Asia Championships, so that the arena environment would not arrive as a surprise. It was the kind of fix a caller notices: the difference between a team that reacts to chaos and one that has rehearsed it.

4. Proving the Arena Right: CAC 2025

The CS Asia Championships in October 2025 was FUT's first event against top-fifteen opposition, and it produced the first statement. The team with an average age of 18.8 years beat FaZe in the opening best-of-one, then beat them again, 2-1, in the playoffs to reach an arena stage for the first time. Fazlija's post-match interview with HLTV supplied the line that has since attached itself to the project: "I think we deserve this LAN arena. Lately, we have been working hard a lot, so I think we deserve it."

The series itself had shown both the promise and the fragility of a young caller's team. FUT had Mirage under control until Helvijs "broky" Saukants won a 1v4 to drag FaZe back into the map, and Fazlija's diagnosis was unsparing: "We were a bit scared, a bit stressed, also. We gave them so much space in every area, I think. And they took every space. We had no info and we were just kind of waiting for them to kill us." Dust2 was recovered, the series closed, and the lesson — that panic, not talent, was the opponent — was banked. The quarter-final against Legacy went the other way; Legacy advanced to the semi-final, and FUT went home with an EVP-free but formative top-eight. At the time the team sat forty-ninth in the world ranking. Within two months it would be inside the top twenty.

"We were a bit scared, a bit stressed, also. We gave them so much space in every area, I think. And they took every space. We had no info and we were just kind of waiting for them to kill us."

The rest of 2025 delivered the first silverware. At DraculaN Season 3 in November, FUT lost their opener to AM, dropped into the lower bracket, and then won seven consecutive series to lift the trophy over ECSTATIC — a lower-bracket run long enough to be a season in itself. A runner-up finish at DreamHack Knockout Stockholm followed, which qualified the team for ESL Pro League Season 23, and a Galaxy Battle Phase 5 title in December pushed FUT into the top twenty of the VRS as the year closed. In January 2025, months before any of it, Fazlija had won a single week of FPL. By the end of the year his team had a trophy and a tier-one invitation. The gradient of the climb was the story.

5. The Winter of Declined Offers

The 2025-26 off-season produced the decision that defines the project's short history. Every FUT player received offers; every FUT player declined them. "We were not sure if we're gonna stay together because everyone in the team had good offers, the coach and everyone had good offers," Fazlija told HLTV at IEM Kraków in January 2026. "But at the end of the season, we all knew what we are capable of together, from the two or three years that we are together. And in the end, everyone just declined everything. We wanted to try this season together, to play these tier-one tournaments and show what we can do."

Kraków was the team's first big tier-one LAN, and the opener supplied the soundtrack. FUT beat Legacy in front of a crowd that Fazlija described as loud enough to matter, and he credited the noise to his own roster: "It's because of the age also and because we are all motivated to show the world what we can do. It's our first big tier-one tournament and of course, I will mention dziugss and lauNX, they have I don't know… Hard voices, they scream so much. It's good for giving us confidence." The tournament ended in a narrow loss to G2 with a playoff place at stake and an exit against Astralis in which FUT dropped a 9-5 lead on the second map — the late-round collapses of a team still learning its own nerves. The Rio qualifier had already failed online, costing forty-one VRS points, and a PGL Cluj-Napoca invitation had been missed by 0.8 ranking points. Then Cluj arrived anyway, via Legacy's withdrawal, and FUT beat Aurora, took revenge on Astralis and pushed FURIA and PARIVISION the distance, with a 12-3 Overpass lead surrendered to MOUZ the remaining piece of unfinished business. Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli, the Aurora coach and a veteran of Turkish Counter-Strike, gave the outside view after facing them: "FUT shoot better than Spirit, Vitality or Falcons."

6. Bucharest: The Captain's First Trophy

April 2026 delivered the tournament that changed the project's standing. ESL Pro League Season 23 had already carried FUT to fourth place — past Astralis, B8 and G2, then a statement quarter-final win over MOUZ, a semi-final loss to NAVI and an overtime bronze-match defeat to Astralis — and PGL Bucharest completed the ascent. The group stage was navigated 3-0, with wins over Inner Circle, NRG and PARIVISION. The playoffs removed B8, in a series survived despite fumbled 4v2 situations, and then The MongolZ, one of the established top-ten teams in the world, 2-0. The grand final opponent was Astralis, and FUT won 3-1: 13-5 on Ancient, 13-5 on Mirage, a 14-16 overtime Nuke defeat, 13-3 on Dust2. HLTV framed it as FUT's "first notable LAN trophy since entering the Counter-Strike scene nearly one year ago," won against heavyweights' absence but with no small amount of authority — the Vitality, MOUZ, FURIA and Falcons slots were empty, and FUT filled the vacuum in five days.

The captain's own grand final was functional rather than spectacular: 53 kills against 55 deaths, a 73.5 average damage per round, a 67.1 percent KAST and a 0.97 rating — the ledger of a caller whose team was winning through dem0n's 2.57-rated Dust2 and cmtry's 1.39 series. The structural fingerprints were his, though. The match report records FUT winning pistol round after pistol round — the opening pistol on Ancient, the second pistol on Mirage to force a 10-2 T half, the Nuke pistols, the Dust2 response after the overtime loss — the rounds that are, more than any fragging statistic, the caller's product. "A couple of weeks ago, I said I think we will make it through, but I did not fully expect to win the grand final," lauNX said on home-region soil. Fazlija lifted the trophy as the first Kosovar in-game leader to win a notable LAN since Bad News Eagles made their scene's Major history, and the MVP went to cmtry. The captain's share was the team.

7. Cologne: "This Isn't CCT" — A Major Debut and Its Frictions

FUT entered the IEM Cologne Major 2026 as the fourteenth-ranked team in the world and the rookies story of the event: four Major debutants, all graduates of HLTV's Prospects list, with Fazlija at No. 6 and a seeded Stage 2 berth. After a 9-12th place at IEM Atlanta, their first outing with lauNX, expectations were calibrated. Stage 2 answered them. FUT beat B8 13-11 and TYLOO 13-9 in best-of-ones, then defeated G2 2-1 for a Stage 3 place — an Anubis pick won 13-11, an Overpass collapse, and an Ancient decider in which Fazlija himself posted a 2.18 rating with 25 kills against 8 deaths and 134 ADR, the finest statistical map of his Major. "I'm not surprised by the team's performance," dziugss said. "We prepared good for this tournament, and we're not taking it as something special, so we don't have the extra pressure."

Stage 3 tested the second part of that sentence. FUT lost close series to Vitality and G2, and entered the 0-2 pool against B8 with more than elimination at stake: a third defeat would likely have cost the team its invitations to future tier-one events, dem0n explained afterward. They survived, then eliminated MOUZ from the tournament, before BetBoom closed the campaign. What the stage exposed was the temperament behind the headset. Broadcast comms captured Fazlija berating his young rifler on Mirage with a line that became the tournament's most-discussed soundbite: "This isn't CCT." Dem0n, in his first HLTV interview, defended it without prompting: "I wasn't really waking up, I was in my own thoughts, and this, in some way, he helped me to bounce back... the IGL should be like this. Sometimes he should tell you straight what is happening." He added the characterization that has followed the captain since: "Everyone is raised differently, and for example, Krabeni, he doesn't care at all. He's just with a different mentality, and that's all." The criticism that attaches to the style — that frustration is a tax a young team pays for its captain's standards — was recorded in the same breath as its defense.

"I wasn't really waking up, I was in my own thoughts, and this, in some way, he helped me to bounce back... the IGL should be like this. Sometimes he should tell you straight what is happening."

8. Paris: The EWC Final and the Anatomy of a Caller

The Esports World Cup 2026 in August was the peak of the project to date and the fullest exhibition of its captain's method. FUT opened with a 13-10 win over TYLOO on Mirage, built on a 9-3 defensive half, and beat MOUZ in the group stage before the Round of 16 delivered the tournament's most emotional test. Against magic, FUT lost the opener and spent two maps surviving themselves: "We lost one, okay, the next one again 2v1, next one, 4v1, next one, 3v1," Fazlija told HLTV. "It was hard to control emotions for everyone." The count of lost clutches — "I've never been more frustrated because of losing like 10 clutches or something" — was the highest frustration of his career, and the reverse sweep that followed was the answer to it. Asked whether the nerves were a youth problem, he was precise about the mechanism: this was only the team's second playoff run of substance, "and whenever we have the game where we need to go to the playoffs or the game where we start to play in playoffs, we start to have pressure from the first map. After we speak about it, then it's going... we are not having that much."

The quarter-final removed MOUZ again, the semi-final survived FURIA on a Dust2 comeback from 8-4 and 10-7 down that ended in overtime, and the grand final put Fazlija's side against Team Spirit in the first meeting between the teams. HLTV's report credited the captain early: "Aulon 'Krabeni' Fazlija's men didn't crumble immediately under the pressure of playing in their first Big Event grand final, taking the fight to Spirit across the first three maps." The Cache gamble — FUT's competitive debut on the map, forced by the teams' shared Inferno permaban — produced a 13-10 win in which his 1v2 kept the first half level; Anubis was lost 16-13 after FUT had crawled from 5-11 to 12-12; Ancient went to overtime, 16-14, after dem0n's 1v3 attempt fell a single bullet short; Nuke closed the series, 13-5. Fazlija finished the final at 0.95, a rating that measured the role rather than the occasion: on a map-by-map basis the caller had drawn first blood on Cache and kept three of four maps within three rounds against the world's second-best team. Spirit's 3-1 ended the run, but the top-eight finish came with the tournament's attention, and within three weeks FUT stood sixth in the world ranking.

The captain's attribute profile explains the architecture. Firepower 73 and Opening 85 describe a caller who still wins his own first duels — rare among shotcallers, standard among Balkan riflers — while Entrying 43 and Trading 25 mark him as neither the designated first body nor the re-fragging second man; those duties belong to others in his structure, with xfl0ud and cmtry built for contact. Clutching 42 is modest for a player whose rounds so often reach the late states that generate clutch attempts — the EWC reverse sweep lost ten of them in one series. Utility 70, the second-highest of his cluster, is the technical signature of the role: the grenade protocols, the mid-round timings, the equipment decisions that decide pistol after pistol. Sniping 1 is literal. His 10,465 FACEIT matches underwrite all of it — the FPL Season 28 title, the three second-place Challenger Europe seasons logged at 175, 179 and 216 matches apiece, and a 53 percent headshot rate across a decade of volume. The record shows a caller built by repetition, then given a team to organize.

9. Record, Standing and Horizon

The aggregate record at the time of writing: prize money of $201,558; one notable LAN title, PGL Bucharest 2026; one Big Event final, Esports World Cup 2026; one Major appearance, IEM Cologne 2026, reaching Stage 3 in the organization's first attempt; no Top 20 finishes and no individual awards, a statistical silence that measures the distance between captain and carrying fragger. The September contract extension closed the circle opened in January: after the dem0n, dziugss and coolio renewals, speculation had run when the captain was not among the first names signed, and HLTV reported it "put to bed" when Fazlija re-signed, leaving AWPer cmtry as the last member of the original core on his initial deal. The team the contracts bind sits sixth in the world ranking, built on a top-eight at the Esports World Cup and an EWC final appearance with xfl0ud — the July signing made, per the club's own framing, to improve the secondary calling around Fazlija.

The autumn tested the new baseline. At BLAST Open Porto, days after the Paris final, FUT beat Lynn Vision 2-1 and Inner Circle 2-0 but lost to Legacy and then to Vitality, 0-2, in the match that decided the last playoff berth; HLTV's report attributed the defeat to a team that had arrived in Denmark directly from the EWC final with no time to reset, its overaggression punished round after round. The Malta LAN Finals ticket was lost to 3DMAX in July. The three-month rating through the autumn settled at 1.02, the honest production of a caller whose team had stopped overachieving and started being measured.

What remains is the conversion the project has not yet made: a playoff finish at a Major, and a second trophy against full fields. The stated ambition, from the caller outward, has never wavered — top five, and a stable place among the contenders, reached by keeping the group intact. The two decisions that made the ambition credible were both his: the trial as IGL in an academy that had no caller, and the winter in which five young players declined everything to find out what they were. At twenty-one, with a trophy, a final and a contract in hand, the Kosovar who took a role nobody had planned for him has made it the reason his team exists at all. The coming seasons will measure how far an organization of it can go.
