xfl0ud — Yasin Koç

A documentary biography of the Turkish rifler who spent six years crossing organizations before joining the Turkish project that reached a Big Event final, built from HLTV profile data, HLTV news records and published interviews.

1. Turkish Start: Arena Bulls, Boca Boston and the 9INE Door

Yasin Koç's recorded career begins in July 2019, at seventeen, on a team called Arena Bulls — the first entry in a team history that now runs to nine organizations. The Turkish scene of that era offered a specific ladder: national online leagues, the ESL Turkey Championship, and the occasional international qualification that let a regional roster measure itself against Europe. The structural reality underneath it was thin — few salaried organizations, fewer international invitations, and a development pathway that ran almost entirely through public matchmaking rather than academies. Koç's answer to that absence is the 4,294-match FACEIT record the profile now carries: a 60 percent win rate, a 1.29 average KDR, a 52 percent headshot rate, and a longest winning streak of thirty-two. The FPL history attached to it spans both games. In the CS:GO ladder he placed fourth in Season 56 and fifth in Season 69 — the latter built on thirty-eight wins from sixty-one matches at a 62 percent clip — with recurring top-ten finishes across the late seasons of the CS:GO Europe division. In FPL Challenger Europe he won Season 44 outright, 65 wins from 99 matches at 66 percent, the season that functions in his record as the bridge from ladder player to professional. Koç spent the second half of 2019 with Arena Bulls, then moved in March 2020 to Boca Boston, the team that won the ESL Turkey Championship. The title mattered beyond the trophy: in June 2020, the Polish organization 9INE signed the Boca Boston roster, and at eighteen Koç had his first professional contract outside the domestic circuit.

The 9INE spell ran from June 2020 to January 2021 and taught the least glamorous lesson in esports — that organizations sign teams and later dissolve them. The next entry in his record, GORILLAZ, was an international mixture assembled around established names; Koć was in it from May to August 2021, at nineteen, playing alongside veterans as the young rifle. He stepped down from the roster in August 2021, and the exit produced the first of the transaction headlines that would punctuate the rest of his career. What the two years had built was invisible on paper: a player who had been the youngest man in every room he entered, comfortable in international comms, and still producing the headshot-heavy, first-contact rifle game that his matchmaking record had always promised — 4,294 FACEIT matches at a 60 percent win rate with a 1.29 KDR and a 32-match winning streak at its longest, plus an FPL Challenger Europe title in Season 44 with 65 wins from 99 matches.

2. Eternal Fire and the Antwerp Major

In October 2021, Koç completed the roster of Eternal Fire, the new Turkish organization built around woxic and the national core. For a Turkish player it was the first real institution of his career, and the timing was fortunate: Eternal Fire's 2022 cycle ran through the RMR gauntlet and qualified for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022, where Koç played the Challengers Stage at twenty — his first Major, and the first for much of the Turkish cohort around him. The record preserves the season's texture in smaller entries, too. In February 2022 he missed weeks of action and the organization called up academy member colorzz to deputize; in July 2022, after Antwerp, the roster added paz and hardstyle in place of Koč and bishop, a replacement cycle that sent him toward the exit without formally ending the chapter.

The return to the active lineup came with a title. In February 2023, Eternal Fire won the CCT Central Europe Malta Finals over Bad News Eagles — the Kosovar organization that was then the Balkan scene's Major standard-bearer — and Koč gave the interview that survives in his record: "It was a very difficult week for us, but I'm very happy to win this tournament." The tournament run itself had been a grinder's path — forZe eliminated in the bracket stage, Bad News Eagles awaiting in a grand final between the region's two flag bearers — and the Pro League campaign that preceded it had supplied the tier-one calibration: Eternal Fire eliminated MIBR from Season 17, met a G2 side extending its undefeated LAN streak on Nuke, and were relegated to the Last Chance bracket by fnatic. In April 2023, Eternal Fire benched him. In May, HLTV recorded his entry into free agency. A first Major, a CCT title, and two benchings inside eighteen months: the summary of a player whose production had outpaced his job security.

3. Project G and the Sangal Rebuild

The bridge year ran through Project G, a short-lived roster announced in October 2023 with dav1g and Koč as its headliners; by November the team had already reshuffled around him, with szejn departing and ztr and Lekr0 arriving. The spell lasted barely a month. The destination was Sangal, the Turkish-rooted organization, which signed Koč and Ganginho on November 28, 2023 — the beginning of the most stable period of his career to that point, and the roster that would eventually carry him to HEROIC.

Sangal's 2024 was built the way second-tier projects are built: player by player, title by title. Jumpy arrived as coach in February, jottAAA in March, SaMey signed in May after a stand-in spell. The results compounded. In June 2024 the team completed a lower-bracket run past HEROIC to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 20 — a qualification earned the hard way, through the bracket that the favorites had dropped into; in July they took down fnatic to win CCT Season 2 Europe Series 6; in August they secured consecutive titles with Series 7, the confirmation that the first had been no accident. The autumn delivered the statement results: a playoff berth shared at RES Champions alongside fnatic in October, then, in September's ESL Pro League group stage, an upset of FaZe in the opening series — the kind of result that converts a tier-two team into a scouting report — while NAVI and Eternal Fire locked in the playoff places around them. Koč was the entry engine of all of it, and the European RMR in November was the season's cruel close: ECLOT sent Sangal crashing out of the Major qualification, and the tournament that had seemed a formality never happened. The team's trajectory, however, had been noticed: when HEROIC rebuilt in January 2025, HLTV's reporting described the deal as the signing of a "Sangal trio," with Koč the headline name, joined by SunPayus and nilo to complete the project.

4. HEROIC and the First Benching

The HEROIC spell, from January 2025, was the longest tier-one engagement of Koč's career: eighteen months, a 1.08 average rating, consistent top-twenty standing with a peak just inside the top ten, and two LAN titles — DraculaN Season 5 and MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025. The roster around him was itself a statement of intent: a Turkish entry rifler, a Spanish AWPer, a Swedish AWPer convert, and a supporting cast assembled across two transfer windows. The spring produced the deepest bracket run: at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, HEROIC secured one of the Stage 1 berths in April, advanced through the 2-0 pool alongside B8, FlyQuest and Wildcard in June, and carried Koč into Stage 2 of his second Major — a step further than Antwerp, in a stage whose draw was headlined by the HEROIC-FaZe grudge match. The season's supporting results gave the run context: at IEM Dallas in May, HEROIC had ended s1mple's FaZe debut in the group stage, and the team's form, and his, were real — at 22 he was producing 1.10-rated LAN performances in the entry role, the position HLTV's community analysis repeatedly identified as the hardest on the server.

The benching came on June 16, 2025, without public explanation. Koč found his next Counter-Strike within a month, but as a stand-in: with XANTARES absent from Aurora for family reasons at IEM Cologne 2025, the Turkish organization called the benched Turkish rifler, and Koč opened the event with a double-overtime Train win over Ninjas in Pyjamas — a match his side had chances to close in regulation before recovering twice in extra rounds, a finish he attributed to the Turkish duo beside him: "Then I think Wicadia and woxic turned up and did the job for us." His interview with HLTV afterward is the essential document of that summer. On the benching: "I was also surprised. I was not expecting to be benched. But I'm not thinking about it a lot because it's business at the end of the day. Maybe they were not happy with me — I cannot know because I didn't get a lot of details about why I got benched. I don't even know the reason." On the stand-in ethics: "If I tried to show myself, I would be a little bit selfish, so I'm not trying to do that. I'm trying to think about how we can win. When I joined, I saw they have a different system than EU teams, so I didn't want to change their system for myself." He noted the symmetry of his role with the absent star: "I was a very vocal player in HEROIC, and XANTARES is a very vocal player on their team... They gave me some leading positions and they said, 'you can control whenever you feel.'"

5. Return, Lessons and the Second Exit

HEROIC brought him back to the starting roster on August 12, 2025, after selling tN1R — a recall that said more about the roster's instability than about anyone's plans. The autumn was a lesson in the difference between individual output and team architecture. HEROIC attended the CS Asia Championships with hades added as a substitute and fell to Legacy in the playoff qualification match, a Dust2 collapse followed by a recovery that came too late. At PGL Masters Bucharest, GamerLegion recorded their first playoff win of 2025 against them, and Koč's assessment afterward avoided the easy version: "We are happy with the result, and if we gain a lesson from these losses, it will be perfect." Liquid sent HEROIC home from FISSURE Playground 2. The winter brought another reshuffle — LNZ benched, Chr1zN signed, susp added — and 2026 opened with a PARIVISION upset at ESL Pro League and an Aurora scalp at PGL Astana, Koč in the lineup throughout, his rating never less than professional and never quite the headline.

The end, when it came, was compressed into a single day. On July 7, 2026, HEROIC benched Koč for the second time — the roster had just suffered early exits at PGL Astana and the IEM Cologne Major, with two wins from ten matches across the two events — and within hours FUT announced his signing, completing their roster after benching lauNX. The intervening season had reshaped the team around him without ever settling it: susp signed and yxngstxr benched in January, Chr1zN added the previous November after LNZ's benching, a PARIVISION upset at ESL Pro League in March that still ended in a Stage 2 qualification, and the Astana opening-round defeat of Aurora in May that Chr1zN framed as the correction of past failures. None of it produced the consistency the roster's parts suggested, and the benching, like the first, arrived without published reasoning. The joining statement he published framed the move as the conclusion of a long arc: "Up to this day, I've done my absolute best to represent our country in the best possible way on the global stage. Now, the prospect of fighting together with one of our country's teams on this path fills me with immense excitement." A player benched by a Swedish-Danish project in the morning had become the Turkish signing of the summer by evening.

6. The Turkish Homecoming: FUT and the EWC Final

The adaptation was not instant. FUT's first event with Koč was the BLAST Bounty cycle, where the team beat SINNERS and lost to 3DMAX — the series that handed 3DMAX the Malta LAN Finals ticket. His own accounting to HLTV was unembarrassed: "We started the season a little bit late because players were not ready to start the season yet, and I was on my honeymoon. So I think that was the biggest issue. We played Bounty with one or one and a half weeks of practice." He described the relearning process with a professional's specificity: new calls he could not yet recognize by voice, CT positions that had changed, "maybe some calls I was missing out on." A month later, the integration had arrived: "Now I am more like myself." The recruitment logic, from his side, had been reciprocal — FUT wanted a secondary voice with tier-one mileage, and Koč wanted the project he believed in: "I had maybe some kind of [other] offers, but from teams that were not as high. But even if I got better offers or same-level offers, I would [still] choose FUT because, besides the organization, the roster is so good, players are so young, and every team is probably asking for players on our team right now."

The Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris was the payoff event. Koč's first LAN with FUT opened with a 13-10 win over TYLOO on Mirage — a 9-3 defensive half nearly undone by his own lost 1v1 in the T-side pistol — and the group stage removed MOUZ. His quarter-final against the same opponent was the best match of his season: a 2-1 win in which he posted a 1.52 rating, 96.2 ADR and an 87.3 percent KAST, punctuated by a Desert Eagle ace on Nuke and a 1v2 clutch that built the early CT lead. The semi-final against FURIA went 2-1 on a Dust2 comeback for the ages, and the grand final placed FUT against Team Spirit. On Cache — FUT's map debut, forced by the teams' shared Inferno permaban — Koč's defensive takeover produced 140 ADR and carried the 12-6 push that sealed the 13-10 opener. Spirit answered with three straight maps, 16-13, 16-14 in overtime, and 13-5, and the 3-1 final stood as the best result in FUT's history. Koč finished the series at 0.89, and the tournament earned him an EVP — his first award of that tier, recorded in HLTV's EVPs and All-Stars list for the event.

His public framing of the move had already gone beyond gratitude. Asked at the event whether FUT could become a stable top-five team, he said: "I think if we can be more consistent and if we can keep learning, keep grinding and keep evolving, I think we're going to be a top-five team in the long term." On the organization: "FUT is a safe home. I feel they are approaching me like a family because they are a Turkish organization, and I have followed them for a long time." And on the roster he joined, a line that doubles as a scouting report on his teammates: "I wanted to play with dziugss even before... he's a very solid anchor... He's shooting hard, he's so smart, and he's very talkative." Of dem0n: "one of the best shooters I have ever played with."

"FUT is a safe home. I feel they are approaching me like a family because they are a Turkish organization, and I have followed them for a long time."

"I think if we can be more consistent and if we can keep learning, keep grinding and keep evolving, I think we're going to be a top-five team in the long term."

The tournament ledger behind the EVP was built round by round. The 1.52 against MOUZ in the quarter-finals was the peak, but the group-stage win over the same opponent and the semi-final survival against FURIA both asked for the same job description — space taken, first contact absorbed, the brawling style that HLTV's grand final report would describe as fitting Cache "like a glove." Across the playoffs his three-month rating climbed through 1.12; the grand final's 0.89, on a map pool that ended with Spirit's pick, measured the gap between a first final and a championship rather than any change in function. The EVP list published after the event placed him among the tournament's best performers short of the medal — the first such recognition of his six-year career.

7. The Mechanical Profile: Entrying 96

The attribute scores describe the job with unusual clarity. Entrying 96 is the defining number — among the highest in the game's current records and the highest in the FUT trio — and it designates Koč as the first body through the door, the player whose deaths are scheduled and whose survivals open sites. Opening 73 and Firepower 62 confirm the duel-winning capacity that the role demands; Trading 65 marks the pack efficiency that turns his openings into round wins when the second man arrives. Clutching 38 and Utility 47 are the expected deficits of the role: entry players rarely survive to the late states where clutches compile, and their utility load is the lightest in a tactical structure. Sniping 0 is categorical — six years of professional play, no AWP.

The profile sits in instructive contrast to his teammates' scores. Where dziugss pairs an Entrying of 88 with an Opening of just 46 — the anchor's profile, first through the door only on set executes — Koč's 96 and 73 combination marks the freelance version of the job: contact sought constantly, in mid-rounds and on re-swings, with the Opening figure high enough to blur the line between entry and opener. It is the difference between a designed death and a hunted one, and it is why his ratings swing harder than the anchor's. The volume beneath the profile is the 4,294-match FACEIT base: 60 percent win rate, 1.29 KDR, 52 percent headshots, and an FPL history that includes the Challenger Europe Season 44 title, a second-place CS2 Europe finish in Season 15 with 1,594 points, and recurring top-ten placements across both CS:GO and CS2 ladders. The professional translation has been uneven by design — an entry player's rating swings with the duels he is assigned to lose — but the through-line holds across organizations: 1.08 across eighteen months at HEROIC, a 1.52-rated playoff series in his first FUT playoffs, and a three-month rating of 1.10 at the time of writing. The role explains the variance; the volume explains the floor.

8. Record, Standing and Horizon

The aggregate record at the time of writing: prize money of $228,380; three Major appearances with three organizations — Eternal Fire at Antwerp 2022 in the Challengers Stage, HEROIC to Stage 2 at Austin 2025 and Stage 1 at Cologne 2026 — one Big Event final with FUT at the Esports World Cup 2026, and one EVP from that event. No Top 20 finishes, no MVP medals, one CCT title and two HEROIC-era LAN trophies in the team column. The sticker inventory spans Antwerp, Austin and Cologne — three Majors, three organizations, six years apart.

The comparative framing is durability rather than stardom. Koč has been the youngest player on his teams and then, without an intervening season, the oldest — "Since Sangal to HEROIC, HEROIC to FUT, I've been the oldest guy on my teams. So, okay, I'm the oldest, but I don't feel that I'm that old. My soul is still, like, 18." His stated theory of team-building has reversed with experience: "When I was young, 18, 20, I thought it was better to play with old players so you get some experience... I think it's way better to play with young players. They can be bigger hitters; they can evolve faster." The record supports the argument he now makes: the best stretches of his career — Sangal's 2024, HEROIC's 2025 spring, FUT's Paris final — all came inside young, ascending rosters rather than finished ones. The trade-offs of that theory are documented in his own transaction history: young teams sell, restructure and bench, and six organizations in six years is the price of building around them.

"Since Sangal to HEROIC, HEROIC to FUT, I've been the oldest guy on my teams. So, okay, I'm the oldest, but I don't feel that I'm that old. My soul is still, like, 18."

The autumn after Paris tested the new baseline: at BLAST Open Porto, days after the final, FUT lost to Legacy and then to Vitality — HLTV's report noting the team had arrived in Denmark directly from the EWC final with no time to reset, Koč's own Vitality series a 0.71 — and finished 7-8th. The three-month rating settled at 1.10. The horizon is the one he named himself in August: consistency, evolution, a top-five ceiling in the long term. At twenty-three, with a final, an EVP and a Turkish organization finally behind him, the player benched twice in thirteen months has become the veteran of the most watched young project in the game. The contract years ahead will decide whether the homecoming was the destination or another door.
